Strip Grazing Management Technique

In this video, you will get to see our replacement heifer crop for this year grazing a strip of premium pasture. Instead of giving these heifers the entire field at once resulting in the pasture being grazed short in a couple weeks, we can parcel it out over the course of the winter to ensure they each get access to this tall, lush grass daily. The remainder of their diet is balanced with Bermuda grass pasture which was stockpiled for the winter as well as hay and some milled milo. Portable electric fences are the backbone of this strip grazing technique. In a matter of minutes, we can deploy an electric fence string and give these girls (and a few lucky bulls) a fresh bit of pasture daily.

These heifers will have their first calf starting in late August 2024 through October 2024. The ones that do not have a calf will be made into our Spring 2025 grass-finished heifers. These cattle predominantly have Angus genetics which is known for its high marbling potential and is a favorite for Americans. For the last few years we have been selecting premium bulls which score in the top 10% for both marbling and tenderness in the Angus Breed. These superior genetics will ensure great beef for years to come. Order your 2024 grass finished beef today!
